#1 Sita-Benga & Jogimara Caves

Our first destination is Sita-Benga and Jogimara Caves. These are historical cave structures located in Puta village of Chhattisgarh, on the north side of the Ramgarh hills. You have to cover 45 Km from Ambikapur to reach the destination. The Sitabenga cave is the first to appear if you’re travelling towards the north. The painted and engraved Jogimara cave is the next spot, and it is located on the south side. According to historians, Lord Rama and Goddess Sita spent fourteen years of exile in Sita-Benga. And Jogimara is acknowledged as a centre for dance and other arts of the Mauryan era.

#2 Ghaghi Waterfall

Next on our list, we have an unexplored yet attractive tourist destination, named Ghaghi Waterfall. It is located at Ambikapur-Mainpat Road. The route of Ghaghi is narrow because of water channels. However, this is a really lovely picnic spot. The flowing water of Ghaghi Waterfall, which cascades down from a height of roughly 60 feet, is the main attraction of the place. The river’s roar reverberates in the background as the water rushes down in stages. You can enjoy this sight of nature and relax there with your family and friends.

#3 Ulta Pani

If you’re willing to explore some extraordinary “Ambikapur ghumne ki jagah”, then come to Ulta Pani. It is around 55 Km away from Ambikapur Railway Station. The location is famous for its Ulta Pani or Bisar Paani, which appears to flow against the rules of gravity. Magnetic fields in an 185-metre strip of land cause the water stream to flow uphill. Just across from the water stream, there is another wonder. A steep road that runs for around 50 metres. Although not very high, the elevation is certain and might be 1 foot. Even vehicles are being hauled back at a speed of 15 to 20 km/h.

#4 Oxygen Park

Oxygen Park is a one-stop destination for visitors looking for some relaxation, fun, and fresh air. It is present at the heart (centre) of Ambikapur. From here, you can see the entire city of Ambikapur and take in the breathtaking sunset. Along with entertainment resources, canteens are available, and it is a good location for taking pictures. If you have kids on the trip, you should bring them here for a family picnic to take pleasure in nature and the greenest atmosphere.

#5 Thin-Thini Patthar

Lastly, we’ll be taking you on a musical journey to Thin-Thini Patthar. It is a cylindrical rock stone located just 15 Km away from Ambikapur. Thin-Thini Patthar is about 200 quintals heavy and produces metallic sounds like tin-tin. Folklore around this stone claims that a fairy was dancing there. And when the villagers saw her, she froze and changed into this stone. This stone has had musical properties since that time. It is regarded as divine for the same reason. So, before touching this stone, keep in mind to remove your shoes.

Conclusion

The route to Ambikapur is easy and smooth as the town has well-developed transport facilities. You can reach the town by air, train, bus, or car. However, we recommend going there by car as then you can explore many other places on your road trip. Try to visit the place between October to July as there will be a lesser rush on tourists site.
